Dr Tracey Marr
Tracey joined the small business consultancy, Business Boffins, in 2004 following her PhD in breast cancer research at Oxford Brookes University. She assisted with projects involved in the commercialisation of university research and has mentored small business owners since 2004. She qualified for the Certificate in Small Business Mentoring from Oxford Brookes University in 2005 and has helped many businesses become ‘investment ready’ by driving their business planning process. She promotes enterprise and technology transfer to undergraduates, postgraduates and researchers at Oxford Brookes University, University of Warwick, University of Reading, Bucks New University and others. She is also an experienced project manager for European-funded community projects and co-founded Communities in Business Ltd in 2005 to deliver business education and training and to support community enterprises. |

Jean Mulligan
Jean is the Chief Operating Officer for Information Today Ltd, an event management and publishing company based in Oxford. She has many years experience in conference and exhibition, direction and development. Jean successfully carries a project from conception through co-ordination of all administrative activities to on-site event management. Previously Jean worked with the United Nations Development Programme in Geneva. Jean is one of the founding Directors of Communities in Business and is instrumental in the successful delivery of the organisation’s events including Civvylisation™. |

Sarah Steel
Sarah was commissioned into the Royal Logistics Corps after attending the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. She worked within close support logistics and then moved into Food Services and management training. Sarah served in the Army for seven years before establishing The Old Station Nursery in 2002, after a search for high quality local childcare left her thinking that there was a gap in the market. Since then, the business has grown from strength to strength and she now runs 13 nurseries in Oxfordshire, Lincolnshire and Rutland. Sarah and her company have won numerous awards including ‘Inspirational Business Mum of the Year’, ‘Winning Business’ in the Lincolnshire Business Awards in 2007 and ‘Business Development’ in the 2008 Nursery World Awards. |

Tracey Jefferies
A traditional mid-life crisis prompted Tracey to launch her own business in 2003. Bitten by the enterprise bug, Tracey has now been involved in the launch and management of three businesses, all still successfully trading. Tracey now works with individuals and companies where her skill lies in the PR and marketing area of business, ensuring their business message is communicated well and that people are listening. Tracey also works as a freelance writer, exploring a wide range of different subjects. Volunteering for hospital radio has led to guest presenting radio shows for commercial companies and recording voice-overs. |
